UK REACH

Companies that import, manufacture, use or place on the market substances, mixtures or articles must comply with REACH.

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) (Regulation No 1907/2006) is a United Kingdom regulation that entered into force on 31 December 2020. The regulation applies to Great Britain (GB) which includes England, Scotland, Wales and associated islands. The regulation does not apply to Northern Ireland due to the Northern Ireland Protocol.

Non-compliance with REACH can lead to a fine or imprisonment. The UK Health and Safety Executive administrates the regulation, Defra Secretary of State makes key decisions and various agencies are responsible for enforcement.
